23 REFEREES PASSED THE IJF EXAM

IJF B Examination 2017, Gdynia, Poland

It was not only a callenging weekend for young athletes in Gdynia at the Junior European Judo Cup but also for referees as the tournament was an exam to posses Continental Licence (IJF B).

On behalf of EJU Refereeing Director, Mr. Alexandr Jatskevitch, and EJU Head Refereeing Commissioner, Mr. Franky de Moor, we would like to congratulate to all the National Federations who has assigned their participants for the IJF B Examination 2017, Gdynia, Poland. All 23 candidates have successfully completed the examination. Mr Moor expressed his thoughts on the weekend;

"The quality of the EJU referees is the best in the world. The reason is that they have so many possibilities to train at high level competitions during the year. In addition the EJU offers a lot of referee and coach seminars for prepration, like we had some weeks ago in Rome. To get this licence it is a long and hard way. Every referee needs a lot of experience. Each federation is responsible for the quality of the referees they send to the exam. They do this by sending them to European cups for preparation. The quality of these examinees shows us that the federations did a good job."
