JUDO FESTIVAL: WOMENS JUDO GET TOGETHER

Judo Festival 2017

Sport benefits mind, body and spirit. For those involved in sport and privileged enough to enjoy it on a regular basis, it’s sometimes hard to understand why others do not participate. If we have a greater understanding of the reasons girls and women do not take part in physical activity, we have a better chance of helping them gain access, embrace opportunity and enjoy sport and taking part in physical activity.

Where else it will be a better place to embrace opportunities like the 4th edition of the Judo Festival has to offer. The Festival will take place from the 10th to the 18th of June 2017. Once again, it will be allocated in the beautiful seaside city of Poreč (Croatia), hosted by the European Judo Union and the Croatian Judo Federation alongside with the assistance of the City of Poreč and the “Laguna Poreč — Hotels, Resorts & Camping”.

In Porec, EJU will be launching a new project with EJU women’s group and for the first time we will have our first Women’s Get Together, whereyou can expect judo women attending from all over Europe; whether is to be coaches, club players, competitors. The idea is to practice together on the mat, have some coaching from top women’s coaches, some elite women players will show their techniques. Further more, all attendant will have the chance to discuss anything in regards to women in judo; how to promote, inspire and support them. Ideally, by the end of the weekend the project would have brought women closer, started to create a network in-between whilst made some new friends with a common passion, improved their judo and had a great time together.

There is clearly a challenge of lower female activity levels and much good work and progress has been made by many. Regardless what the aspiration or the activity, having the time and opportunity is something every female deserves. Play your part in making a physically active life possible for all women and girls. Every great things start with small steps and by hosting Women Get Together in Porec, it will be another great thing starting. Don’t miss your first step and register online!

Whilst spending eight days of unforgettable holiday, you will benefit of physical health, psychological health and socializing. Judo Festival is the only festival offers a diversified programme for all age groups. It is also an opportunity for judo friends to meet and enjoy judo in a fantastic Mediterranean surrounding.
