Today in the history: 25 December

Today Volodymyr Soroka (UKR) celebrates his birthday at Christmas day. The European Champion had a great season.

You would think that there aren't any judo events at Christmas day, but last year the Israelian Championships took place in Tel Aviv. Yarden Gerbi took the U63 national title. Her colleague Alice Schlesinger won the European U23 title this year and bronze at the Senior World Championships. Yacov Mamistvalov was successful in the U17 Europeans winning the title.

Former European Junior Champion (2004) Denise Jongekrijg (NED) also celebrates her birthday, now 24. As well as Alan Techov (LTU) who won a hand full of national titles this decade.
