Today in the history: 24 December

Frédéric Demontfaucon celebrates his birthday. The former world champion of 2001 always fights an interesting battle with Dutchman Mark Huizinga, both from 1973. Huizinga became Olympic champion in Sydney, Demontfaucon won the bronze.
Of eleven matches Huizinga has nine eight, but in 2004, the Frenchman was better twice. Odd enough both men never met in world or Olympic bouts.
Their last fight was in 2006 at the European Championships.
For some years Demontfaucon fought in the U100 category and fought other heroic fights with Dutch rival Elco van der Geest and Henk Grol.
Now Demontfaucon has retired after the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008.
