Judo only martial art on the Paralympic programme

A total of 132 men and women will grapple it out in the Judo competition at ExCeL from 30 August to 1 September 2012.

Played by athletes who are blind or have a visual impairment, 13 events will feature across seven weight categories. Visually impaired athletes who are deaf may also compete.

Very little is different between the Olympic and Paralympic sport: mainly that to orient themselves players have physical contact with their opponent before each contest begins.
