Today in the history: 26 NovemberToday in 1992 Yacine Douma won the European junior championships in Jerusalem U60kg. Ten years later he won the European senior title.
More junior medals took place today in 1989 in Athens at the European junior championships where David Khakhaleishvili (SOV/GEO) won the gold in the plus 95 in 1989, young David Douillet came third, his first international mark. Four world titles and two Olympic medals follow.

Jesica Gal (NED) won gold U52kg, she collected four European senior medals in total and also won four World Champoinships medals.

There were interesting champions today in 2001 at the world military championships. People like Mark Huizinga (NED), Mário Sabino (BRA) and Alexandr Mikhailine (RUS) win the men’s titles. Italians women Scapin and Morico win for Italy, Dongouzashvili for Russia.

At the European Championships U23 2006 in Moscow, Marhinde Verkerk (NED) wins the European title (pictured). This year she became World Champion in her own country. Last week's winners of the U23 title seemed to have a bright future.
