IOC moves participation at Youth Olympic Games judo to age of 18

At the next Youth Olympic Games to be held in Nanjing (China) in 2014, the year range for Judo in the Youth Olympic will be athletes of 16, 17 and 18 years of age, born in years 1998, 1997 and 1996. The qualification event for the next YOG is the World Championships Cadets next year in Miami, USA and in accordance with the age range the IJF has agreed to change the Cadets age also for 3 years range of 15, 16 and 17 years old. For the next World Championships Cadets 2013 participation will be for athletes born in years 1998, 1997 and 1996. At the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore Europe won 20 out of 32 available medals. In Singapore 8 categories were held, in Nanjing the same categories will apply.
