CONTRACT SIGNING 2025: IPPON GEAR

In a milestone event held in Belgrade, Serbia, Ippon Gear celebrated its enduring collaboration with the European Judo Union (EJU). Representing the brand, CEO Mr. Stefan Kneitinger shared his vision, plans, and reflections on the partnership.

Speaking on the brand’s core philosophy, Kneitinger stated;

Since four years ago, we have embraced our slogan: ‘Unified by Judo.’ It is wonderful to see the EJU resonate with this idea, which highlights our strong fit as partners. As a long-time judoka and brand owner, my goal has always been to foster community and unite the judo world under the Ippon Gear umbrella. We aim to do more than supply products; we strive to help clubs grow and advance judo across Europe and beyond. Contributing to the sport’s development is what drives us.

With the start of a new Olympic cycle, Kneitinger discussed exciting prospects;

A new Olympic period always brings generational shifts and we are closely watching new hopeful athletes. It is thrilling to imagine who will rise to the top in four years. At the same time, we are forming a new team while cherishing our seasoned athletes. Icons like Barbara Matić, Lukas Krpálek, and Anna-Maria Wagner will hopefully stay active. If not, we aim to keep them engaged in judo through our brand. For instance, last year’s ‘United by Judo’ tour in Germany with Anna-Maria Wagner was a resounding success, and we plan to scale this initiative across Europe in the coming years.

Kneitinger also emphasised inclusivity;

We are passionate about supporting the adapted judo project. These athletes deserve a platform, and we are committed to involving our elite athletes in their seminars and events to foster inclusivity.

Ippon Gear is also set to launch an entirely new apparel line in the coming months.

We want to be a comprehensive brand that supplies everything from head to toe, not just judogi. This new range reflects our vision of versatility and innovation.

As a German and European brand, Ippon Gear’s partnership with the EJU is deeply rooted. Kneitinger further explains;

The EJU is our home market. Teaming up with them has always been essential and we have never hesitated to strengthen this partnership. We are excited to continue developing together and Belgrade was the first step.

Following the conclusion of the official proceedings, each company was presented with a certificate to symbolise its partnership with EJU and the Paris Plaque, in recognition of their unwavering support.
