CZECH REPUBLIC HOSTS 300 ATHLETES FOR EUROPEAN OPEN THIS WEEK

The capital of the Czech Republic has already welcomed the judo family once since lockdown for a successful European Championships in 2020. So we can confidently look forward to welcoming over 300 athletes for the Prague European Open this weekend between the 27th and 28th of February.

Though the IJF have their Grand Slam schedule well underway given the Olympic Games is almost on our doorstep, it isn’t only the Olympic-bound athletes that are still in need of competition. This European Open will see athletes competing for the first time since lockdown began in 2020 and will be a great welcome back.

The UNYP Arena Sparta will host this event over the two days following a series of compulsory testing completed by the delegations and staff to ensure safety is a priority for this community.

With an entry list boasting home nation superstars including Lukas KRPALEK, it will be an exciting event, but medals will be expected for nations who are sending some colossal teams including the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and of course the host nation with potentially 34 entries.

Both days are set to start at 09:00 local time, with a link available on our website www.eju.net
