WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK?

As another week commences, from development programs to premier international contests, judoka across different levels are gearing up for a period of growth and competition. Buckle up…,here is what’s coming your way!

From 17-19 March, Porec is the place to be for judo’s rising stars! At the back of the Porec Millennium Team Cadet European Cup 2025, the city will host a large gathering of young judoka eager to improve their skills. The cadet training camp expects a substantial turnout, with hundreds of athletes committed to taking another step forward in their judo careers. There is no better place to do this than in the sunny surroundings of Porec.

Straight off an intense Olympic Training Camp in Nymburk, the big guns aren’t slowing down! They are heading full throttle into the prestigious Tbilisi Grand Slam 2025, drawing a formidable lineup from across the globe. So far, with 53 nations contributing a total of 414 judoka, expectations are high for fierce battles on the tatami. If you have ever heard of ‘The Georgian Style’, you know that this event is going to be epic! As the event nears, anticipation builds for the midweek preview, set to analyse key bouts, potential podium contenders and national team strategies.

After the International Judo Federation’s Kata World Tour kicked off earlier this month, the European Judo Union is keeping the rhythm alive with this weekend’s Pordenone European Kata Tournament 2025. The Italian city hosts an essential stop on the tour, celebrating the elegance and precision of kata performances. A total of 152 judoka from 14 countries are registered, ensuring a showcase of technical mastery and artistic expression. It is a demonstration of judo in its purest form with timing, technique and tradition taking centre stage. With kata growing in popularity worldwide, this event represents another step in fostering its development and appreciation.
