THE OLYMPIC FLAME ARRIVES IN FRANCE 

The excitement for the 2024 Olympic Games is building up as the Olympic flame arrives in France, marking the beginning of the torch relay and signalling the country’s readiness to host this prestigious international sporting event. The Olympic flame, a symbol of unity, hope, and the Olympic spirit, has made its way to French soil, precisely in Marseille, igniting a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm among athletes and spectators alike.

The tradition of the Olympic torch relay dates back to the 1936 Berlin Olympics and has since become an integral part of the Games. The flame is lit in Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, and then carried by a series of torchbearers through the host country, spreading the Olympic values and excitement along the way.

France, known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and passion for sports, is the perfect host for the 2024 Olympic Games. The arrival of the Olympic flame in France marks a significant milestone in the countdown to the Games, which will take place in Paris and its surrounding regions.

France is also known for their rich history in judo and without a doubt France Judo is just as ready for the now not long to go Summer Games. The journey of the Olympic flame through France showcases the country’s iconic landmarks, picturesque landscapes, and cultural heritage. From the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the lavender fields of Provence, the flame’s route reflects the beauty and charm of France, inviting athletes and visitors from around the world to experience the magic of the host nation. 

The torch relay not only symbolizes the passing of the Olympic spirit but also serves as an opportunity for communities across France to come together and celebrate. The torchbearers, chosen from various backgrounds and walks of life, carry the flame through cities, towns, and villages, inspiring unity and showcasing the diversity of the host nation.

In May 2024, 11,000 torchbearers will form a relay to celebrate the arrival of the Games in France. London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist, Priscilla Gneto is also amongst those who will carry the flame. The French judoka shared the exciting news on social media.

Super proud to announce I will be carrying the Olympic Flame for the Paris Games! A great honour to walk around my beautiful island of Corsica where it all began for me. 

This flame is all the magic of games that accompanies athletes in their quest to surpass themselves and especially in the accomplishment of a dream and share it. 

I hope this journey will ignite the hearts and boost the atmosphere around competitions and every competitor.

Gneto will carry the Olympic Flame on the 14th  May at Bastia. The arrival of the Olympic flame in France also signifies the country’s commitment to hosting a successful and memorable Olympic Games. Extensive preparations are underway, including the construction of world-class sporting venues, infrastructure improvements, and meticulous planning to ensure the smooth execution of the event. France is determined to provide athletes with the best possible conditions to showcase their talents and create unforgettable moments for spectators.

The Olympic Games are not just about athletic competition; they are a celebration of unity, friendship, and peace among nations.
