Education Seminar in Wavre ends on the tatami with mix of practices

This weekend the Education Seminar in Wavre, Belgium, was held. Previously we reported on the various presentations in judo for a range of different age category, representing “judo for all”.

The last day started with a presentation of the organisation of the Belgian Judo Federation by Michel Kozlowski. Then Fabio Capelletti presented how to use judo for a fulfilment physical and psychological development for children ranging from 3 to 5 years. “Judo is a complex activity adapted for the improvement of the psycho-motricity for the children from 3 to 5 years old” said Fabio Capelletti. “Judo should be presented like an educative system which contributes to reach skill of the educative system: knowledge, culture, autonomy, physical world, citizen and social interaction” explained Vicente Carratalá of Spain. The example of Spain shows it is possible to apply judo in a country educative system and underlines the conceptual meaning of judo. “The finality of this kind of program is the promotion of judo outside the club to give the children the chance to approach to the club” said Franco Capelletti, EJU Education Vice president. Attilio Sacripanti (ITA) reminds us the structure of the six levels Judo Master “teaching and coaching judo” in the University of Tor Vergata, Italy. The conclusion of the Education seminar was on the tatami with a mix of examples of judo for children both in Ne Waza and Tachi Waza. We apply the real meaning of Jita Kyoe during the seminar, thanks to all the participants for the spirit of reach exchanges of judo knowledge, for the high level of presentation of the experts and a special thanks to the Belgium Judo Federation for its warm help and hospitality.
