Kimono shoulder stripes used for national colours or official advertising

Kimono shoulder stripes used for national colours or official advertising

The EJU has been very successful recently to gain more and more sponsors for its marketing program to get more attention for the sport general. Judo is becoming more professional by the day. As of the 15th of February the advertising space on the shoulder shall be used only for national colours and advertising of official EJU Suppliers.
At the recent congress in Düsseldorf, the EJU took this decision for all official EJU events. It means European Championships, all World Cups held in Europe and all European Cups. This is applicable in the age starting U17 year until and including the veterans starting from the 15th of February.

The other advertising spaces, as allocated by the IJF, remains as before.

Judogi with advertising of non-official suppliers on shoulder stripes cannot be used. Judoka who like to compete must ensure that the judogi conforms to these rules. Judoka should remove non-EJU Official Supplier advertisement or change the gi.
It is not allowed to tape or cover any non-authorized suppliers as this would affect the judogi design and the grip of the opponent.

The current list of EJU kimono suppliers are:
Adidas, Stapro, Dax, Essimo, Matsuru, Nihon, Budo Nord, Noris and Green Hill.
In case of new official suppliers the EJU will publish this immediately in the homepage and send it to the federations.
