The International Judo Federation announced today the promotion to 10th Dan of IJF Hall of Fame member and EJU Honorary member, Mr. Franco CAPELLETTI. The presentation was made by IJF President Mr. Marius VIZER and along with IJF General Secretary Mr. Jean-Luc ROUGÉ shortly before the start of the final block on day two of the Suzuki World Championships being staged in Budapest, Hungary.
Mr. Capelletti is the current IJF Kata Commission chairman and had the previous evening received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Capelletti expressed his greatfulness after the awarding;
“For me, it was quite difficult to imagine becoming 10th Dan but I have had much help from my friends, my student and all people collaborated with me. This is a beautiful day. I will remember this day for the rest of my life. I hope to have a longer future to remember this moment.”
