NEW TEACHERS AT THE HELM OF KATA CLASSES IN JUDO FESTIVAL

NEW TEACHERS AT THE HELM OF KATA CLASSES IN JUDO FESTIVAL

Heading in to the third week of the Judo Festival Online, we see some new faces on the Kata timetable. In the previous weeks we have had EJU expert, Wolfgang Dax-Romswinkel take the reigns and provide a number of classes, both educational and practical.

This week, we are lucky enough to be able to add more experts to the roster to host the history lesson and practical elements of Kodokan Goshin Jutsu. Maurizio Calderini of Italy will be hosting the initial session this evening at 19:00 CEST which focuses on the historic education aspect of Kodokan Goshin Jutsu, and will be followed up by Pedro Gonçalves on Thursday with the practical class, again at the same time of 19:00 CEST.

Maurizio was previously a competitor before injury led to an untimely end to his competitive career, however this opened a new door for him: Kata. With numerous World and European titles claimed, he is an expert for the EJU and has shared his knowledge across the continent and beyond.

The latter of our educators this week, Pedro, hails from Portugal and also boasts an abundance of accomplishments on the Kata circuit including vice champion of Europe as well as a further seven placements and 4th place in the World Championships. Pedro received the Jukutatsu title, awarded by the Kodokan Institute which equates to an exceptional level in the execution of the Kodokan Goshin Jutsu Kata so this is a terrific opportunity to receive a high level of education.

As the pair specialise in this Kata they will be around this week only so don’t miss these brilliant live classes at www.eju.net, however if you’re unable to tune in at our streaming time, the sessions are available on our YouTube channel to revisit.
