On Saturday the city of Celje in Slovenia will host the European Cup for seniors, which is one of the top events this season in the European Cup tour. Celje’s tournament will be held for the first time on four mats. Organisers have decided to do this after they hosted more than 400 competitors on the mat from year to year.

This year a high number of competitors is also the case. The organisers are expecting around 450 competitors and a lot of nations came to Celje with their first teams. Germany, Hungary, Ukraine, Slovenia all with their best assets. Celje is known as the tournament which is visited by quality judoka. Meanwhile, while the rest of competitors are preparing for the Olympic Games in London, some of them will test their skills in Slovenia before the Olympic Games.
