PEKOVIC SHOWS SIGNS OF READINESS FOR STEP UP TO SENIORS

Jovana Pekovic has got big plans. Top of her list is her wish to win Gold at the U23 European Judo Championships at the end of this year in Podgorice – particularly in front of her home crowd. At just 19 years old Jovana still belongs to the Juniors. This weekend the Montenegrian demonstrated that she also has a word to say at senior level, and demonstrated this clearly today when she won gold at the EJOpen in Belgrade in the under 70 kg category. Arriving by car, her parents dropped her off, both are sporty – whilst her father was a weightlifter, her mother played judo, too. “My mum is always in my mind”, she told us. What else she said after her win, you will hear in the video.
