This weekend the European Cup in Hamburg will take place. The German Open has a wealth of participants with more than 500 athletes from 39 countries.
Most of the athletes use the European Cup as last preparation for the World Championships starting the 9th of September in Tokyo.
Under the participants Olympic gold medalists like Alina Dumitru (gold in Beijing) and Igor Makarov (gold in Athens) as well as many Olympic and World Championships medalists.
From Germany 140 athletes will fight for the medals. The crowd can look forward to Michaela Baschin, Viola Wächter, Claudia Ahrens, Claudia Malzahn and Franziska Konitz, and in the men’s category Andreas Tölzer and Robert Zimmermann will promise some spectacular judo.
O Sunday Romy Tarangul, Kerstin Thiele, Iljana Marzok, Heide Wollert and Luise Malzahn will fight as well as U23 European Champion Sven Maresch,
