EJU Medical Seminar 2025

The EJU Medical Seminar 2025 in Dubrovnik will take place on 28–29 November and will present a full-day programme focused on health, safety and performance issues in modern judo. Topics will range from new injury statistics across EJU events and within the Danish Judo Federation to in-depth discussions on concussion management, brain injuries and anti-doping education.

The schedule will also explore factors influencing athlete wellbeing and performance, including the menstrual cycle, sleep, stress monitoring and upper respiratory tract infections. Practical medical concerns such as finger dislocations and Parkinson’s rehabilitation through judo will also be featured, alongside the introduction of a new IJF system for registering medical doctors, ensuring the seminar remains both medically rigorous and sport-specific.

The second day will shift toward inclusion and long-term development. It will continue with a session on injury prevention through video analysis and will conclude with a meeting of the EJU Medical Commission. Hosted at Hotel Royal Ariston, with sessions in the Coral Banquet hall, the programme will balance research, education and collaboration positioning the seminar as a key platform for shaping judo’s medical standards and athlete welfare in the years ahead.
