The Millennium Team served as a cornerstone partner for cadet judo throughout 2025 and in 2026 this partnership continues to flourish as the company maintains its position as title sponsor of the European Judo Cadet Tour.
Following the official contract signing in Belgrade on 20 January, Mr Stojan Vujko, CEO of Millennium Team, shared his reflections on the partnership’s impact and vision for the future.
For Millennium Team, the journey into European judo sponsorship represents both a natural progression and a significant milestone. As a leading construction company delivering some of Serbia’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects, the organisation has long recognised the parallels between elite sport and successful business operations.
“The past year was very special for Millennium Team,” Mr Vujko explained. “This partnership with the European Judo Union is our first major sponsorship outside Serbia and it has opened the door to the wider European judo community.”
The company’s commitment to judo extends well beyond this European partnership. For many years, Millennium Team has supported Serbia’s judo community, notably serving as general sponsor of Judo Club Crvena zvezda (Red Star), whose athletes have achieved outstanding results on both national and European stages.
The alignment between Millennium Team’s business philosophy and judo’s core principles made the EJU partnership a logical evolution.
“Millennium Team is involved in the delivery of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Serbia,” Mr Vujko noted. “Our work requires long-term vision, precision, responsibility and teamwork. These are the same qualities that define top-level sport, which is why supporting judo feels natural to us. We recognise the same commitment, discipline and pursuit of excellence in elite athletes as we do in our business.”
The partnership has delivered tangible benefits for brand visibility across the European continent. “Through this partnership, our brand has become visible across Europe, at competitions, in venues and on EJU digital platforms and social media,” Mr Vujko observed. “More importantly, we have become part of a strong sports community that shares values such as discipline, respect and hard work.”
Speaking of 2026, Millennium Team’s involvement with the EJU extends beyond financial support. Mr Vujko has assumed a position on the EJU President’s Advisory Board, offering an opportunity to contribute strategic perspective from the business sector.
“By renewing our commitment, we want to continue building on the cooperation we have already established,” he explained. “Our main goal is to remain actively involved and to support the long-term development of European judo. Through my role on the Advisory Board, I hope to contribute to the work of the EJU, share experience, bring fresh ideas and support initiatives that help the sport grow further across Europe.”
For Millennium Team, sponsoring judo aligns closely with the company’s corporate social responsibility objectives and broader organisational ethos.
“Supporting sport has always been an important part of Millennium Team’s values,” Mr Vujko emphasised. “We believe judo plays a strong role in shaping young people, teaching discipline, respect and perseverance. We are especially proud of our support for the Millennium Team European Cadet Judo Tour. By helping these competitions take place, we give young athletes the opportunity to compete, gain experience, and develop on an international level. For us, this is a meaningful way to give back to the community.”
When asked about opportunities for deeper collaboration in 2026, Mr Vujko identified several promising avenues for expansion.
“There are many opportunities to strengthen our cooperation further, especially through projects focused on young athletes and the promotion of judo’s core values,” he said. “Although Millennium Team operates in the construction sector, the connection with judo is clear for us. In both sport and business, success comes from hard work, discipline and belief. These are values we support and want to continue promoting together with the EJU.”
The Millennium Team partnership exemplifies how organisations outside the traditional sports industry can meaningfully contribute to athletic development whilst achieving their own strategic objectives. By championing cadet-level competition, the company invests in judo’s future whilst reinforcing its own corporate values of excellence, precision and long-term commitment.
As the 2026 European Cadet Judo Tour unfolds, thousands of young athletes will benefit from the platform Millennium Team helps provide, gaining international experience, developing their skills and embodying the very values that attracted the company to judo in the first place.
