ATHLETES HEAD TO SARAJEVO FOR 2021 EUROPEAN OPEN

Following a brilliant week at the Junior European Championships, we’re now moving to Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the senior European Open event.

There are over 300 athletes descending upon the ‘Arena’ Hotel Hills over the two day event this week, the Hotel Hills resort is a perfect location for increased safety of the athletes, volunteers and delegations.

At the top of the entries is Anne Fatoumata M BAIRO (FRA), a multiple time Grand Slam medallist who will be one to watch in the +78kg category, along with four other French entries in the top eight seeds.

In the rest of the categories, all is to play for and with Paris 2024 in the sights of some of the more experienced athletes, finding their footing before stepping back on to the IJF world tour is imperative. There are also many juniors feeding through on to this cycle who for many will be great underdogs for the senior teams.

The live action can be found at live.ijf.org over both days. The preliminaries are set to start art 09:00 on both days but keep checking our social media accounts for any updates.

We wish all of the athletes the best of luck and of course thank the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for hosting.
