The European Judo Union is pleased to announce that the Austrian federal government will continue to provide financial support for the EJU Head Office in Vienna for at least the next three years, through to the end of 2027.
This encouraging commitment was confirmed during a recent meeting between EJU Secretary General Martin Poiger and Austria’s State Secretary for Sport, Michaela Schmidt.
“Austria is interested in hosting important international and European sports federations, and we are very glad to have the EJU in Austria,” emphasised State Secretary Schmidt.
The EJU Head Office, which began operations in January 2013, plays a central role in the coordination of judo activities across Europe. Currently, four employees are based at the Vienna office, with an additional five staff members working at the EJU Presidential Office in Budapest. The EJU expresses its gratitude to the Austrian government for its continued trust and support.
