Today the Croatian Judo Federation (CJF) has decided to cancel the Cadet European Judo Cup and the following training camp, which was to be held in Zagreb from 7th – 11th of March. The Croatian Judo Federation is following the directives of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.
Due to the fact that sport (especially Judo) involves a very close contact with competitors, the spread of the infection is potentially more frequent than in normal social contact or in other sports. The large number of countries and participants is another major factor. The Croatian Institute of Public Health is of the opinion that those reasons justify postponing the event.
The EJU fully respects the decisions of local authorities and the Croatian Judo Federation. The CJF confirmed that they will get in direct contact with all who have registered for the event.
