EJU Executive Committee Meeting March 2025

EC MEETING CONCLUDED IN HIGH ENERGY

Budapest played host to the first Executive Committee Meeting of the European Judo Union in 2025, a gathering that radiated momentum, ambition and strategic vision. Over the course of 11-12 March, representatives from every sector seized the opportunity to present comprehensive plans, objectives and operational advancements before the committee, fostering an environment of constructive dialogue and forward-thinking engagement. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of purpose, reflecting an organisation that is not only unified but resolute in its pursuit of progress.

A particularly noteworthy element of the session was the inclusion of distinguished guests from the Education Sector, who introduced innovative projects aimed at broadening the reach of judo. Programs under the Adapted Judo, Erasmus+ and Judo for Children commissions were showcased, underlining the EJU’s dedication to inclusivity, accessibility and grassroots development.

While the discussions unfolded in a spirit of cooperation, the evening of Tuesday 11 March marked a special moment of camaraderie when, during the official dinner, IJF President Mr Marius Vizer joined the delegation in recognising and appreciating the constant ambition that drives the organisation forward. Reflecting on the Executive Meeting, Dr. Tóth László, President of the EJU, conveyed his enthusiasm regarding the collective determination exhibited by the committee: “The energy in the room was noteworthy. Regardless of sector, everyone was engaged and actively contributing to our shared vision. The synergy between us has never been stronger. We are ready to showcase the remarkable projects that each division is pursuing with tenacity and dedication.”

The Budapest meeting sets the tone for an ambitious year ahead. With a strategic blueprint firmly in place, the organisation remains steadfast in its mission to expand the sport’s influence, cultivate new opportunities and uphold the values that define judo on the European stage.
