“As Vice President of the European Judo Union, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude following the resounding success of the Veteran World Championships held in the heart of Paris. This event was not only a celebration of judo excellence but a testament to the enduring spirit of our global judo family.
“From the moment the first judoka stepped onto the tatami at the iconic Dojo de Paris, it was clear we were witnessing something extraordinary. The venue proved to be a perfect arena, steeped in tradition, yet vibrant with energy, offering an ideal stage for the high-calibre performances that unfolded throughout the championship.
“The level of judo displayed by our veteran athletes was nothing short of inspiring. Each match was a showcase of dedication, technical mastery, and the deep-rooted passion that defines our sport. The camaraderie and mutual respect among competitors transcended borders and generations, creating an atmosphere that was both electric and heartwarming.”

She continued:
“What made this championship even more special was the way our judoka embodied the true values of judo, respect, friendship, and perseverance. Whether it was a fierce contest or a heartfelt embrace after a match, the spirit of unity and mutual respect was ever-present. Veterans from across Europe brought their decades of experience to the mat, proving that judo is a lifelong journey. Their performances were a testament to the enduring power of discipline and dedication, inspiring younger generations and reminding us all of the timeless beauty of our sport.
“To every European judoka who stepped onto the tatami in Paris: thank you for your courage, your excellence, and your heart. You made us proud, and your legacy continues to elevate judo across the world. A special commendation must go to all referees, whose professionalism and consistency ensured the integrity and flow of every contest. Their excellent work was instrumental in upholding the values of fair play and respect that lie at the core of judo.
“Behind the scenes, the organisation of the event was seamless. From logistics to hospitality, every detail was meticulously handled, allowing athletes and spectators alike to fully immerse themselves in the experience. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, staff, and partners who made this possible.
“Most of all, I am moved by the spirit of unity that permeated the entire championship. The Veteran World Championships in Paris reminded us that judo is more than a sport, it is a lifelong journey and a global community. Together, we celebrated not just victories on the mat, but the enduring bonds that make judo a way of life.
