EUROPEAN CLUBS GO HEAD TO HEAD IN PRAGUE FOR PROMOTION TO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The victors of 2019 may be rallying to decide the champion of champions in Paris on Saturday, but almost 900km away in Prague, Czech Republic, there is an equally star-studded line up preparing themselves to take glory and put themselves in the Champions League 2022.

The Europa League sees hosts USK Praha and Judo Brno welcome a number of other teams from around the continent; Russia, Ukraine, France, Romania, and Serbia.

We don’t exaggerate when we say we have a phenomenal entry in both France and Czech Republic, the Europa League with its own set of Olympic medallists and judo legends. Potentially the most star studded is the Paris Saint-Germain line up with Teddy RINER, Amandine BUCHARD – who made the move to her new club this year following success with RSC Champigny – Romane DICKO and Marie Eve GAHIE to name a few.

However they will have strong rivalry, not only from fellow French teams but a front from the Russian side, Akhmat, where Tamerlan BASHAEV is leading the charge.

The atmosphere will undoubtedly be electric in the Arena Sparta with the sides looking to promote themselves to the next league, finishing off an already tremendous year, returning back to full competition, a world championships, Olympic Games and reuniting with the judo community in the mixed teams event.

Competition is set to begin at 10:00 local time on Saturday, find the live action at ippon.tv
