FAIR PLAY AT THE KIDS CAMP

EJU Kids Camp 2024

FAIR PLAY AT THE KIDS CAMP

The EJU Kids Camp successfully concluded in Zagreb where over 1100 children from 30 countries joined three former world class judoka to learn all about the gentle way. Each day of the camp was divided into two sections, a morning judo session and an afternoon session filled with several activities including creative DIY ventures. Children were also exposed to demonstrative exercises with the rescue services to learn how to react in an emergency such as flood, earthquake and fire. Moreover, a Fair Play workshop was also available for all attendees.

Co-Chair of EJU Fair Play Commission, Mr Deregan Gabor expressed his thoughts following the camp;

The Kids Camp was a great occasion to meet with the children, and promote the Fair Play values for them. Hundreds of children visited the EJU Fair Play stand and played with us. Now we mainly drew attention to the team spirit with the games we played. We confirmed that we are a family, the judo family. The kids really enjoyed the fact that the Olympic medalist camp leaders, Nuno Delgado and Rustam Orujov, joined them to play. It is important for the children to hear about Fair Play. The participants received a bottle and a backpack with the Fair Play logo to remember us. I highlighted three Fair Play values in my short closing speech: Respect, Care and Team spirit. We repeated each of them aloud with the children. I am grateful to the organisers and especially to the camp leader, Nuno Delgado, who created a great atmosphere in the venue. It was an amazing three days!
