German Judo Federation ready for Judo Festival

German Judo Federation ready for Judo Festival

The German Judo Federation is ready for the Judo Festival from 3-6 October in Cologne. The highlight of the 60-years anniversary is the international match between the teams of Germany and neighbour The Netherlands at a judo gala for the athletes.

The four days event will be attended by 750 participants and thousands of visitors. At the Festival a variety of activities can be witnessed: seminars, workshops, fights and demonstrations. The great part of the National Judo Team is present with daily autograph sessions for the children. The motto of the judo festival is “Judo for Generations” for kids, young athletes and also the veterans. Judo federation President Peter Frese is proud on the event and “we will use the anniversary as well for an outlook in the future. It should connect people from clubs all over Germany. It’s an interesting programme and it contains a big fun factor clearly for the athletes. It must be an exchange platform in all ways.” The festival will be opened on Thursday at the German Sport and Olympic Museum. The international between Germany and The Netherlands will be on Saturday between 18:00 and 20:00 in the hockey hall of the German Sporthochschule. The gala is already successfully sold out but everyone is welcome at the four days festival with an excellent programme.
