The second competitive day of the Sarajevo Junior European Cup 2025 was marked by a great atmosphere in the stands hotel Hills sports hall. A good reason for that was many high-quality and interesting fights. The first gold medal on the second day went to Mihailo SIMIN, who defeated his
compatriot Vasilije GRUJIČIĆ in the final of the category up to 81 kilograms.
Last year I was second in Sarajevo. This time I won gold in a competition that was stronger than in 2024, especially because there were some competitors who were not there last year. The opponents were extremely serious and motivated, and it is especially difficult to compete in the final against a colleague from the national team. However, I am happy about winning gold at the very beginning of the year.

A real judo delicacy was the final fight in the category up to 90 kilograms. What his sister Julia failed to do yesterday (silver in the category up to 70 kg), today her brother Derek MARCZAK succeeded in the judo competition up to 90 kilograms by winning over Ramin BAIAZOV (IJF).
This time I was a little lighter than other competitors. Gold at the beginning of the year is always nice, especially since this is my first gold medal in junior competition. To add another one from the World Championships would be fantastic.

Tabea Nika MECKLENBURG won the first of two medals for Germany on the second day of competition. She defeated Sarah BOTHY from France in the final in the -52 kg category.
Mortaza SUHA won the second, and overall third gold for Germany in Sarajevo this weekend. He defeated last year’s winner Dario DOBRA from Romania. Although the tournament is over, the Sarajevo EJU Junior Training Camp 2025 will start tomorrow in the Bosnian capital and it will last until February 12.
