During the EJU Judo Festival being held in the Turkish coastal resort of Antalya current World and European Champion Majlinda Kelmendi was presented with the EJU’s award as the best female judoka of 2013. EJU President Mr. Sergey Soloveychik made the award and received special thanks from a gracious and appreciative Kelmendi. “Thank you first for the EJU president’s support and what he has done for me. About this trophy, well this means a lot to me; it means a lot for my country. I have to say thank you to everybody who has helped me. It is particularly special when one comes from such a small country. To achieve such a big success like world championships makes me so happy and proud of myself. And I want to say a special thank you to the person who has brought me here – this is my coach. Without him I would not be where I am today.”
