The latest Junior European Cup concluded this past weekend in Skopje. While most delegations remain in North Macedonia for the three-day training camp, attention is already shifting to the upcoming Junior European Judo Championships 2025, set to take place in Bratislava, Slovakia, from 4–7 September.
Although this will be the first time Slovakia hosts the Junior European Championships, it is not the country’s first experience with continental judo events. Bratislava previously hosted the U23 European Championships in 2015, and in 1999, the Slovak capital welcomed delegates for the Senior European Championships.

Anton Pospíšěk, President of the National Judo Federation of Slovakia, expressed his pride and enthusiasm about the forthcoming event: “It is a true privilege for Slovakia to host this remarkable event, bringing together the continent’s most promising young judoka. We are proud to open our city to such exceptional talent, dedication, and passion for the sport. Special thanks to the European Judo Union and President Dr Tóth László for the opportunity to organise such a prestigious tournament in Bratislava. This event would not have been possible without your continued support and commitment, which have been instrumental in bringing it all together. On behalf of the Slovak Judo Federation, I wish all competitors the best of luck, and to all referees and EJU officials, a pleasant and memorable stay in Slovakia.”
