Japan and France take gold at European Cup Juniors in St Petersburg

The 11th european cup for juniors under 21 started on the 19th of april in StPerersburg sporthall Yubileinyi. The strongest judoka of the national teams of 18 countries will fight for the awards in 16 weight categories.

288 athletes came to the city on the Neva from Armenia, Poland, France, Germany, Finland, Belurus, Croatia, Estonia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Latvia, Lihtuania, Netherlands, Slovenia, Ukraine, Tadzhikistan and Russia. Today on tatami we see boys 55, 60, 66, 73 kg and girls 44, 48, 52 and 57 kg. The winners of the European Cup are Zhaksybek Zhenisbek (KAZ. 55 kg), Robin Corrado (FRA. 60 кг), Takamasa Sueki (JPN. 66 kg), Yuji Yamamoto (JPN. 73 kg), Mariia Lebedeva (RUS. 44 kg), Rui Takahashi (JPN. 48 kg), Reina Yamamoto (JPN. 52 kg) and Sarah Harachi (FRA. 57 kg). During the first day of the tournament russian team got 14 medals, Japan and France got 6 medals, Kazakhstan got 4. Japan team by the quality is on the first place – they got 4 gold medals from 6.
