Japan dominates Kata Worlds; Europe takes four medals

The World Kata Championships in Franjurt am Main have been dominated by Japan. The Japanese couples were able to take gold in al five categories. Iran follows with fantastic results of four silver and two bronze.
Three European countries follow with medals. Italy represented by VOLPI Ubaldo and CALDERINI Maurizio won silver in Goshin Jutsu. Spain was able to take the bronze by VERANO Jesus and GONZALEZ Maximo. It was however the Japanese team to take the gold medal.
The Japanese are the standard in each competition. Italy won a second medal by PROIETTI Stefano and DI LELLO Stefano who took bronze in Katame No Kata.
The Romanian women ZAHARIA Alina and CHERU Alina won a bronze medal in Juno Kata. The winners from Japan however dominated despite an injury of Uke, but demonstrated a perfect kata.

A total of 121 couples from 25 nations took part in the five kata competitions.
