The first teams registered for the Judo World Championship by Team, which will take place this Saturday and Sunday along the coast of the Turkish Mediterranean Sea. But October 28th is also a special day for all judo fans, as most of you well know, that it is also Jigoro Kano’s (the founder of judo) 150th birthday.
On this occasion, the IJF is really pleased to announce that in 365 days from now, the first “World Judo Day” will be organized, exactly the day before next year’s Open Judo World Championship in Tyumen, Russia. The theme of this unique moment will be “RESPECT”. All throughout the upcoming year, we will keep you informed about the unfolding of the event.
You can already book the date: Friday October 28, 2011 will be the first World Judo Day, organized simultaneously all over the planet. On a regular basis in the approaching months, we will inform you about the preparations for that exceptional moment that we will all share next year.
