The Győr European Judo Hopes Tournament & Technical Sessions is soon to get underway, taking place between 16–17 August. This is the fifth stop on the European Judo Hopes Tour and it promises to keep the momentum rolling with an unforgettable mix of competition and learning.
Leading the way will be Aleksandar Kukolj, Serbia’s 2017 European Champion in the -90 kg category and silver medallist at the 2021 World Championships in the -100 kg. Known for his sharp tactics and ability to adapt, Kukolj has spent years at the top of the IJF World Tour, showing exactly what it takes to succeed at the highest level.


Alongside him is Kazuhiko Tokuno from Japan with an eye for perfect technique. A bronze medallist at the 2001 World Championships and silver in 1999 , two-time Asian Champion, Tokuno will arrive passing on the purest form of judo as one of the Kodokan’s leading experts.
The Győr sessions will once again give young judoka the rare chance to train with both a European powerhouse and a Japanese technician. Expect top-class instruction, plenty of practice, and a few behind-the-scenes stories. As one of Europe’s great judo cities, Győr is set for another memorable stop, adding yet another event to its long list of successfully hosted competitions.
