On 2–3 May, the capital of Georgia will host the ‘Millennium Team’ Cadet European Cup in judo. A total of 362 athletes from 17 countries will take part in the tournament.
Following the Senior European Championships, which were also successfully staged in Georgia, judo returns to Tbilisi in quick succession. This time, the spotlight shifts to the next generation, with cadets aiming to showcase their talent on the international stage and gain valuable experience.
The tournament represents an important milestone for cadet athletes, as competitions of this level allow them to assess their abilities, gain international exposure and prepare for major championships in the future.
According to the President of the Georgian Judo Federation, Levan Nozadze, hosting such events carries special significance:
“It is a great honour for us to once again host an international tournament in Tbilisi. After the European Championships, the Cadet European Cup is another opportunity to demonstrate our organisational standards and hospitality. It is especially important that young athletes are given the chance to compete at a high level and gain invaluable experience. I am confident that this tournament will reveal many future stars.”
