Kick-off 61st EJU Congress in Düsseldorf

At the 61st Congress of the European Judo Union in Düsseldorf more than 70 delegates of 46 Member states were present to listen and decide for new changes to develop judo. Mid February Düsseldorf is host of the Grand Prix. Düsseldorf has a tradition in judo. In 2003 the city organized the European Judo Championships individual and teams and the city has a big Japanese community.

In the Directing Committee Meeting at Friday the Congress was prepared and all Commission reported regarding their progress.

In the DC meeting one of the topics was the European Club Championships, the former European Club Cup.
The following was approved:
> change from 4 to 3 pools
> champion of the previous year should organize the final of the following year.

In the Directing Meeting new Directors Bénédicte Rouby (Education & Coaching Director) from France and Sports Director Michal Vachun (CZE) were welcomed and thanked for their contribution so far by EJU President Sergey Soloveychik.
