European Judo Championships Senior Mixed Team Mulhouse 2022

“I am very proud of our staff and all member federations. The Mixed Team European Championships turned out to be a great success, a beautiful romance with a happy end for the hosts. They earned the win. It was a dramatic final”, summarized EJU President László TOTH after France won the Mixed Team European crown by beating Netherlands in the Gold Medal match 4:1. “I have to thank the French Judo Federation for the fantastic job they have done. They would deserve a gold medal for their organisation and this can be said about the local fans too. When we are talking about the atmosphere today in the Mulhouse Sports Palais I would say: This was the best EJU event of this year. It was kind of a perfect day for Judo. Only downside: Some of the teams did not send their very best athletes. This is something we will analyse for next year.”

The EJU President and President of the Hungarian Judo Federation used today’s event also for numerous meetings with the French Judo Federation: “We are starting the preparations for the European Championships in November 2023 in Montpellier and we have been discussing the future format of the Club Championships.”
