KRISTIINA PEKKOLA RE-ELECTED AS SWEDISH JUDO PRESIDENT

The Swedish Judo Federation held its annual general meeting, which was attended by a record number of members. A total of 105 approved votes were registered during the meeting, where several motions were discussed and important decisions were made to strengthen the association’s future work.

Ms Pekkola was re-elected as president for a further two years, from 2025 to 2027 and three new members were elected to the Board of Directors, contributing to a renewed dynamism in the organisation’s management. Ms Pekkola also continues to fulfil her role as Vice President in charge of Education for the European Judo Union.

The meeting approved both the budget and the operational plan for 2025, creating a stable foundation for the association’s future investments and activities. The annual meeting marked a significant milestone in the Swedish Judo Federation’s efforts to promote judo in Sweden. The organisation also welcomed Nami Nabekura from Japan as the latest member of their coaching team for the national team. Nami will commence her assignment from 1 April 2025.

To conclude the event, Ms Pekkola expressed her gratitude to all participants for their commitment and contribution to the success of the meeting.
