LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Great honour for Serbian Judo President Ivan Todorov

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Ivan TODOROV, the President of the Serbian Judo Federation, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, which the Sports Federation of Serbia traditionally presents each year to the most deserving athletes, sports federations, organizations, sports experts, and journalists.

At the ceremony held in the Grand Hall of the Stari Grad municipality, in the presence of Zoran Gajić, the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Serbia, and Božidar Maljković, the President of the Olympic Committee. The most prestigious sports award was presented to the President of the Judo Federation by Davor Štefanek, President of the Serbian Sports Federation.

“I would like to thank the Sports Federation of Serbia for the excellent organization, President Štefanek, as well as the committee that awarded me this great social recognition. I would also like to thank the Judo Federation of Serbia, Sports Society Crvena Zvezda, and the Olympic Committee for nominating me,” emphasized Ivan Todorov, the President of the Judo Federation of Serbia and honorary president of the Judo Club Crvena Zvezda.

Ivan Todorov, once a top athlete of our country, a successful coach and sports worker, has been leading the Serbian judo family for decades. His reputation on the international stage is best reflected in the important positions he holds in the European Judo Union and the International Judo Federation. Ivan Todorov is Serbia’s Ambassador in Hungary.

“After 50 years of active involvement in sports, if we’re counting from my early days as a pioneer until today, I have not spent a single day outside of sports, and that is why this award puts wind in my sails. The Lifetime Achievement Award does not mean that I have ended my career. I received this award at the right time, and I promise that we will achieve even better results in the future. The same applies to Crvena Zvezda and the Judo Federation of Serbia. This award is a great motivation. I would also like to thank the Federation for recognizing the work and effort I have put into sports,” said Ivan Todorov.

The Lifetime Award for the best strategist went to Dragan STOJKOVIC PIKSI, the headcoach of the Serbian national football team. The prize for the best territorial federation went to the Sports Federation of VLASOTINCE. As best club the WATER POLO CLUB NOVI BEOGRAD was announced. Volleyball player Tijana BOSKOVIC was presented as best female athlete in Olympic sports, while jiu-jitsu competitor Nikola TRAJKOVIC won the category for best male athlete in non-Olympic sports, just to mention a few.
