MOVING TO REIMS

Reims Kata Tournament 2024

MOVING TO REIMS

The next destination of the EJU Kata Tour is Reims, France this weekend where, to date, 63 couples from 9 countries have entered to compete at this event. Afore all demonstrating their best forms, a mandatory practical seminar for kata judges will be held alongside an exam for all new judges. Despite moving the event to a different city at each occasion, the tradition of this tournament organised by the French Judo Federation is becoming increasingly popular.

This weekend serves as one of the final stops before the European Judo Championships Kata 2024. Based on the registered couples, it will certainly be interesting to see the ratio of older and younger generations who sees Reims as one of the most exceptional tournament to prepare for the Europeans. Naturally, the event will be organised at the highest level with the CARE system that has now became the standard at EJU kata competitions. This tournament also marks one of the last chances where both, competitors and kata judges will be able to set their positions on the official kata ranking list for Sarajevo.

Notably, during the EJU Kata Tour, the younger age groups are at equal importance as one of the target of this sector is to include as many young people as possible in kata competitions, via which, they are also able to educate and address the value of kata in judo. The Complexe Sportif René Tys arena is ready to welcome our kata family for the weekend. We wish the best of luck to all participants!
