László TOTH is President of the European Judo Union, President of the Hungarian Judo Federation and tournament organiser in one. On the 2nd day of competition of the Hungary World Judo Masters, the 63-year-old was awarded the eighth Dan by IJF President Marius Vizer before the start of the final bouts.
“I honestly didn’t think about it anymore, as I was busy with the Masters organisation. When I was called up on stage, I was surprised. To receive this award in front of the Hungarian home crowd is a very big honour. You only experience a moment like this once in a lifetime,” László Tóth said happily.
IJF President Marius VIZER emphasised: “It is a great pleasure for me to award the 8th Dan on behalf of the IJF to László Tóth, President of the Hungarian Judo Federation, President of the EJU, Vice-President of the IJF and long-time friend. I would like to congratulate László and thank him and the federation for helping me organise the best judo events.” Personal postscript: “I wish you health and prosperity and all the best for the Federation.”
