OTC Mittersill brings new rules into practise

OTC Mittersill brings new rules into practise

The Olympic Training Centre in Mittersill has come to an end. During the 10 days more than 500 athletes came to Austria to enjoy the facilitates of the OTC Going for Gold.

It is one of the 8 OTC’s scheduled for this year which includes the start of the Olympic Qualification. The OTC was attended by many coaches and referees who attended the IJF Refereeing and Coaching Seminar in Malaga. The new expertise on the new rules was very useful to bring into practice in Mittersill where the details could be discussed among athletes and their (club) coaches. Not only at the tatami but also at a special seminar for coaches the developments were shown with fresh examples provided most over by the IJF team. Extra special was that the seminar was attended by some of the athletes who could directly be involved in some questions. In that case for instance Austria’s U70kg judoka Bernadette Graf was invited to judge a situation where she was involved herself. Would she penalize the situation or proceed ad with what reasons. In interesting situation where it was delightful to enjoy the mix of coaches, referees and athletes in a more theoretical situation. At each future OTC these theoretical seminars will be organised.
