PARIS 2024 OPENING CEREMONY: CREATIVITY AND INCLUSIVITY

The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games is a grand celebration that marks the official start of the Games. Held in the host city, it features a blend of artistic performances, cultural showcases, and formal traditions. The Opening Ceremony also embodies the Olympic values of unity, peace, and international friendship, setting the tone for the competition ahead.

Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be a landmark event, as for the first time in Olympic history, the ceremony will take place outside a stadium, along the picturesque River Seine. In just a few hours, the ceremony will span a six-kilometre stretch of the Seine, showcasing Paris’ iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame and the Louvre. More than 600,000 spectators will be able to watch the event live, for free, from the banks of the river.

Athletes will parade in boats along the river, giving spectators an intimate and innovative view. The ceremony will be a blend of traditional and contemporary French culture, with performances by renowned artists and a spectacular fireworks display. The ceremony will culminate in the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, symbolising the official start of the Games.

The Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony will celebrate the Olympic spirit with creativity and inclusivity, setting the stage for an unforgettable Games.
