POSITIVE FEEDBACKS AHEAD OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

European Judo Open 2017 Minsk - Day 1

POSITIVE FEEDBACKS AHEAD OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The opening part of the European Judo Open Minsk 2017 delivered a rather ecstatic day of judo. As established before, not only high quantity but real quality was on offer to our audience. The primary aim for all elites to visit Minsk was to pre-test their forms prior to the 2017 World Judo Championships and to take part in the prestigious and superior OTC afterwards. By the end of day one we saw five nations celebrating their victories. Azerbaijan and Portugal doubled their golden joys.

Winner of the -57kg category, Telma MONTEIRO (POR): “I am really happy with my performance today because after Rio I stopped and I had a shoulder injury. I only started training two months ago so I am happy it was a good day and I think the competition had a good level too. Of course, it was a competition to come back and to use it as a training too and I had fun so I am glad. I really enjoyed it today because like I said I was out for 11 months. I haven’t decided yet about the World Championships but I think I will be there to enjoy judo and to try to get onto the podium again.” – Kostadin Andonov

We will solve this problem for the World Championships.” – Kostadin Andonov
