It was not only a challenging weekend for young athletes in Prague at the Junior European Judo Cup but also for referees as the tournament was an exam to possess Continental Licence (IJF B). 
On behalf of EJU Refereeing Director, Mr. Alexandr Jatskevitch, and EJU Head Refereeing Commissioner, Mr. Franky de Moor, we would like to congratulate to all the National Federations who has assigned their participants for the IJF B Examination 2018, Prague, Czech Republic between 20-22 July.
The total of 34 candidates have successfully completed the examination. Mr. Moor expressed his thoughts on the weekend;
“First of all, the total number of 34 candidates applied for the exam, which is a record. On Friday a theoretical exam took part and on Saturday and Sunday the practical part. All of them passed the exam, of course some referees show higher potential than others, but the level was in general very good. Many candidates practiced already at previous European Judo Cups, so they were already well prepared by their federation. Now, it is up to them to develop and try to climb up the ladder of refereeing, and who knows, maybe some of them get selected.”
