REMO VENTURELLI OF ITALY PASSES AWAY

 Remo Venturelli; man, Champion and Technical Director of the past, it is with sadness we say goodbye to you. 

The European community and Italian Judo mourn the death of Remo Venturelli, who died on the night of Thursday 25th of July at the age of 79. Venturelli was a great athlete in the then described, heavyweight category, in which he took fifth place at the 1961 World Championships in Paris and the silver medal at the 1962 European Championships in Essen. He was the Technical Director of the Italian National Team from 1988 to 1996, obtaining excellent results in the most prestigious events. The love of judo was passed on through his family, Stefano Venturelli, son of Remo, participated in the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.
