The European Judo Union, in collaboration with the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Zagreb and the Croatian Judo Federation, is pleased to issue the second call for contributions for the upcoming 8th Scientific and Professional Conference “Applicable Research in Judo”, to be held on 12–13 November 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia.
This unique conference brings together scientific research and practical expertise in judo, with the shared goal of strengthening the link between academic research and the day-to-day practice of our sport. This event offers a platform for researchers, coaches, competitive judoka and professionals across all levels of the judo community to contribute, collaborate and inspire.
Purpose of the Conference
The conference continues its mission to:
- Connect judo science and practice
- Encourage the implementation of research and new technologies in judo
- Foster international collaboration among researchers and practitioners
- Promote judo’s positive impact on health, growth, education and development
- Support continuous improvement in coaching, athlete welfare and sports management
Contribution Opportunities
All judo experts, coaches, scientists and professionals are invited to submit their work in one of the following formats:
- Academic Papers (oral presentations)
- Professional Viewpoints (theoretical or applied perspectives)
- Practical Presentations (tatami-based demonstrations)
The Conference particularly encourages submissions that translate scientific findings into applicable methods that can improve judo training, education and practice. Selected contributions will be published in the official Conference Proceedings, and the best papers will be recommended for publication in the IJF’s international interdisciplinary journal, The Arts and Sciences of Judo.
