“It’s great to see the European Championships debut in Bulgaria. They have a long Judo tradition and are consinstantly winning medals at top-level and it is no surprise, that they also clinch medals in front of their home crowd”, emphasized IJF President Marius VIZER at his visit in the Bulgarian capital. “A big thank you to EJU and the the Bulgarian Judo Federation. The 70th edition of the event will be one to be remembered.”
The Austrian citizen is going to meet the EJU top officials soon again, on the 17th of June, when the Extraordinary EJU Congress will be held in Vienna. “I am looking forward to meet up in my country and I am convinced, that TOTH Laszlo is a very good choice. He has been leading the Hungarian Judo Federation for more than 24 years and has been an EJU General Treasurer for more than 20 years as well. I am sure, we will continue to work very closely together on the development of Judo.”
The IJF is in the final preparations for the upcoming Olympic qualification end of June and the World Championships in Tashkent in October.
