SEMINAR WITH OLYMPIC CHAMPION

Today ends the judo seminar held in Prague. More than 200 coaches from five countries (CZE, SVK, AUT, POL, FRA) took part in the opening sessions. The seminar was led by 1996 Olympic Champion and triple World Champion, Mr. Jeon Ki Yong.

The Korean started his lecture with breaking balance and other basic principles. Then he demonstrated his famous seoi-nage emphasizing every important details and showing several variations of this technique. He then continued with sode-tsuri-komi-goshi and his other favourite techniques. Later he demonstrated and explained in details other techniques which Korean judoka are famous for. The sessions lasted almost five hours. “I thank you for your attention and your great work you have done during the seminar” said Mr. Jeon to all coaches. “I hope that this seminar has been helpful and will be fruitful in your further work in your clubs.”

Mr. Vladimir Barta (IJF Sports Director) and Mr. Michal Vachun (EJU Vice President) were also at present of the opening session: “It is our great pleasure and honour to welcome Mr. Jeon in Prague”,  said Mr. Barta. “I am sure this seminar will improve the level of coaching in the Czech Republic.”
